Adeptus Titanicus Game - Legio Gryphonicus vs Legio Tritonis
After Oliver had spent lots of time painting up his Legio Gryphonicus for Adeptus Titanicus, it was time to get them on the table top in a training game.
No Missions, no Strategy cards, no upgrades and no skills - just Titans and Legio formations
Oliver took Axiom formation with:
Warlord Titan with Carapace Apocalypse Launcher and two Volcano Cannons
Reaver Titan with Carapace Apocalypse Launcher, Volcano Cannon and Lasblaster
Reaver Titan with Carapace Twin Turbo Laser, Gatling Blaster and Melta Cannon
Warhound with Vulcan Mega-bolter and Twin Turbo Laser
Warhound with Plasma Gun and Twin Turbo Laser
My force took the Corsair formation with:
Warlord Titan with Carapace Apocalypse Launcher and Sunfury Plasma Cannon and Volcano Cannon
Warlord Titan with Carapace Apocalypse Launcher and Sunfury Plasma Cannon and Volcano Cannon
Reaver Titan with Carapace Apocalypse Launcher and LasBlaster and Volcano Cannon
Reaver Titan with Carapace Apocalypse Launcher and LasBlaster and Volcano Cannon
Battle field for the battle - plenty of blocking terrain with a number of fire lanes, some movement would be required.
Battle begins:
Gryphonicus Warhounds full stride down the table field to outflank the Tritonis Reaver
Meanwhile a Tritonis full strides on the opposite flank, elsewhere Titans line up to exchange fire - got to love the look of the 'Beatle Back Warlord'
First casualty of the game a Gryphonicus Reaver is targeted by my Warlord stripping off it's shields, then a Tritonis Reaver hit the Reaver with its Volcano cannon hitting the legs for 2 critical hits, I then targeted the Lasblaster at the legs and caused two more critical hits - destroying the Gryphonicus Reaver
The Gryphonicus Wahounds chase after the Reaver which using it's Corsair ability walks sideways into cover
As the battle continues, the Reaver closes the range to use it's Melta Cannon, managing to take down the shields of the lead Warlord Titan and caused a number of hits on it's leg
In the next turn the Reaver was targeted by both the Tritonis Warlords - in a spectacular roll of dice Oliver manages to roll five '1's for his shield saves!!
Now with no protection the Volcano cannon hit it's legs for critical damage then the Sunfury Plasma fires on maximal fire targeting the leg resulting in it's destruction
At this point we had played out all the turns - victory to the Legio Tritonis though both Reaver Titans where without shields and running 'Red' on the Reactors with mounting damage on their body area.
Lots of learnings for Oliver - next time we will include missions as the 'training' continues.
